Sea Paintings

"Violet Sea" - original acrylic by Sea Dean

"Island Sunrise" - original acrylic by Sea Dean

Sea Dean is an artist friend of mine - and I have admired her work for quite some time. Whenever I get a few $$'s ahead in my account (from various art sales), I like to purchase some art from fellow art friends. It is always an honor to own a piece from a fellow artist - as an artist myself, I know the amount of work that often goes into even the smallest of pieces. These 2 paintings are proof of that effort.

I loved the first one, Violet Sea, from the first day she posted it in her DPW gallery. The piece spoke to me and I was in love with the color & shapes. But I lacked the funds at the time, so I waited. Then suddenly she put it up for auction and I thought "oh no, some one else will own it!" That sparked me & I said "now is the time." So I bid, and I won, and now I own it to admire. The colors are even more beautiful in person - and there is an iridescent glow to it, especially when the light hits certain areas. What a wonderful piece of art!

The second painting was part of an artist swap I did with Sea. We traded pieces of art! Have you ever done that with another artist - it's wonderful. There was a piece of my art that Sea liked and I was happy to trade it for another one of her pieces. I chose Island Sunrise - love how she handled the clouds. And the colors just jump off the piece right at you. She has a wonderful talent for capturing the ocean & the sky.

Please click on this link - and head over to see Sea Dean's gallery of work. She handles all sizes, from large size paintings and small ACEO cards - plus everything in-between. She also does commissions, and will gladly do a rendition of something she has that has previously sold. What a wonderful way to get a one-of-a-kind piece of original art from a great artist!

Also, check out her blog where she writes more about her pieces, and gives you links to some of her favorite posts & blogs.

Thank you my dear art friend, for sharing your art. And for your gift - I will read it with much enthusiasm!!

Sea Dean - Paint a Masterpiece said...

Thank you Nan. Your praise overwhelms me. Violet Sea is largely liquid acrylic and Island Sunrise has a lot of finger painting in the clouds so completely different paint and technique. Both are from photos taken in special places, one in Australia and one in Tahiti, both places with amazing light. Thank you for your love and support.

I especially love that top piece, Nancie. I suspect that would have been a pick of mine too. I have swapped art with artist friends and it is so fun!!
